Normally you begin with AS in the first year, then you can progress on to A2 which is a full A Level. You can, however, choose just to do AS. These courses require commitment and previous knowledge/qualifications in the subjects.

Cost: Fee A & B £145 per year plus £37 certificate fee

Fee C £37 certificate fee only

The School reserves the right not to enter students for the exams if achievement is unlikely.

Fee A: No concessions

Fee B: Non - Certificate courses 20% reduction for students over 60 on 1st Sept 07.

Fee C: Free certificated courses (PLEASE NOTE certificate fees are not free) and 75% reduction on non-certificate courses for:

Students aged 16 and under 19
Students receiving Job Seekers Allowance, Income Support,
Working Families Tax Credit (subject to threshold), Housing/Council Tax Benefit.

FE Teaching

From 2007, anyone new to teaching adults on an LSC funded course in Cumbria must be qualified as a teacher. We are offering the City & Guilds 7303 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS), twice a week to take into consideration those working day and evening.

This qualification is an introduction to teaching adults. You may undergo the 30 hour course and be employed parallel, learning through experience although no teaching practice is stipulated as a course requirement. The course will combine practical tasks in workshop format with some theoretical input. Those employed by Cumbria may be able to apply for staff development to cover fees (cert. fee payable)
